How often should a Will be reviewed?

Generally, a Testator can review as well as update his/her Will at any time during his/her lifetime. However the Testators should be cautioned from attempting to amend the Will themselves without seeking professional advice as the attempt might render the Will ineffective or invalid.

The Testator should review his/her Will upon marriage or re-marriage or upon the occurrence of events that would cause revocation of a Will. The Testator should also review his/her Will when the Testator changes his/her name or anyone mentioned in the Will changes theirs’, if the appointed executor dies or becomes unfit to act or if there are any changes or circumstances that the Testator considers would affect the Will.
